Serve With A Heart

The month of may has been an awesome month. I think what made it awesome was the rys program. It was a great learning experience. Each day i set new goals, what i hope to accomplish during the program. There were challenges, but I could overcome it because I realized that these challenges shouldn't stop me from what i hope to accomplish for that day's goal. I'm really grateful for the guidance and encouragement. In fact it is a learning experience. God is so amazing in many ways. I'm sure everyone has had many experiences but my experience was that God wanted me to learn through the challenges. It is just amazing that in such a short period of time, all of us participants really bonded as brothers and sisters. It really shows we can come together. In every part of the program , I could learn something from it. It was always a learning experience. Staying optimistic, encouraging each other really goes a long way in making the project more meaningful! I felt each one of us really grew each day through the challenges, sharings, activities, work, learning from one another. One most important thing was teamwork and that was what kept each group going, united. I learn to appreciate many things. Being grateful for being given this chance to participate in this service project, something I'm really happy about. Although the showers were cold, after a few days, it really didn't matter because cold showers felt refreshing after 4 hours of work with the weather being hot. But the heat didn't stop any of us from working. All of us continued to work, no matter the heat. We wanted to make a difference in the lives of the school children and their future. Also appreciating the food being cooked for us all. I really came to opening my heart and mind more, to understand the heart in every effort put into this project. Be it the cooks, the staff, the community, the brothers and sisters. I wish I can write more in this post(but I shall keep it short and simple). I did share with everyone my experience but I don't know if my sharing could be understood. Because I kept giggling/laughing mostly, not that it was funny but i could not help but feel happy. Although I said, I don't know what to say. Truthfully, I just didn't know how to put them into words. I mean it's fine when i do journaling but when it comes to speaking, i am at a lost for words. Because I guess I could feel the experience through my heart. As much as I wanted to share, I feel that to experience rys, is experiencing yourself to really feel what it is like. It's really a amazing experience. It's my first overseas service project and that's not the end because I really hope to do more service projects in the years to come.

Happy Birthday to all born in May! ^_^
